Mahogany Bay Village Welcomes NFL Players to San Pedro, Belize
This week Mahogany Bay Village welcomed American NFL players Ray Crockett and Henry Melton (Denver Broncos) along with Terrell McClain (Dallas Cowboys) for a VIP preview of Mahogany Bay Village and a night in San Pedro Town. Ray Crockett played in the NFL for 14 years and is a two-time Super Bowl champion (Denver Broncos, 1998 – 1999).
These days, Ray Crockett is a real estate developer in Texas and California who specializes in helping younger athletes make wise long-term investment decisions with their wealth.
Ray Crockett is always on the lookout for new real estate opportunities, and was first drawn to Belize because of its friendly foreign investment climate and rise in demand due to recently announced international flights being added to Belize. But Ray’s first trip to San Pedro wasn’t all business, as he made time to visit Mahogany Bay’s Beach Club on Ambergris Caye’s west side, and more importantly made a stop at San Pedro High School to speak to the students about determination and success. Mahogany Bay’s Director of Sales & Marketing, Carl Dean, introduced the players, as his and Ray’s friendship traces back for years to the same real estate network in Dallas, Texas.
Ray Crockett's motivational talk to the San Pedro High student body emphasized what he refers to as the three "D" of discipline, determination, and dedication as the keys to success, and says that the bottom line is always the process of hard work.
"Failure is only achieved when you quit," said Ray Crockett.
A huge thank you goes out to Mahogany Bay Village team members Josie Nunez and Britney Travis, who made it possible at the last moment to get all of the San Pedro High School students together at once in the Angel Nuñez Auditorium to have the opportunity to hear Ray Crockett speak before he boarded a plane back to Dallas. At the talk’s conclusion, many students enthusiastically stuck around for autographs and photos with the players.
Thank you as well to Mayor Danny Guerrero for opening the talk, and the San Pedro High faculty for being flexible enough to make schedule adjustments to accommodate these special guests!
Finally, thank you to Crockett, McClain, and Melton for taking the time to share their experiences and goodwill with the students of San Pedro High School, and for helping to put Belize on the international radar as a welcoming place for foreign retirement and investment.
